RJ + Delaney - An Intimate, Private Estate Backyard Wedding in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Rj & Delaney met in high school when they were 16 years old & instantly became best friends. They did everything together but all they ever were, was just friends. Low key, Delaney had the biggest crush on Rj, and little did she know - that Rj was secretly crushing on her too. Delaney ended up transferring high schools her senior year, but always remained in touch with him. The day Delaney graduated, RJ came to cheer her on, and knew he had to make his shot.  Afterwards when they were taking pictures with her family, RJ walked right up to Delaney and kissed her, and later asked to be his girlfriend that night. Making it *OfFiCiAL* 

They did a long distance relationship for a little, as RJ went to Oregon for school. Delaney came to visit one time and the moment she walked out of the airport terminal, RJ knew right then that she was the one. 

Around 7 months later, RJ woke her up at the crack of dawn to get ready for the day. They spent the entire morning going to the places that were sentimental & nostalgic to them & their love story. They ended up at the famous “LOVE” sign in Scottsdale, AZ, where she was told to pose for a picture. Of course, when she turned around, RJ was on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of his life with her. 

The ring that he proposed with, previously belonged to RJ’s grandmother. It was gifted to them to pass along to their children one day. 

ALSDKJFOAJALSKDJG. LIKE HOW CUTE IS THAT?! Rj’s grandmother was way ahead of Nicholas Sparks. 

So, needless to say - Tanner & I hit it off with these guys. From being high school sweethearts, to Rj’s mutual love for cars with tanner, and Delaney & I’s slight obsession with Gilmore Girls -- It was the big things all the way to the little things that we connected with. 

& not to mention, their wedding day was an absolute DREAM to shoot. It was held in a private estate in Scottsdale, Arizona & was a sunny 80 degrees the entire day. 

The ladies got ready in a separate ‘school house’ that was in the backyard, that was basically the size of our apartment, HAHA. 

Delaney & RJ opted out for the first look for themselves, but Delaney wanted to do a first look with her father. Her dad had a major heart attack 2 years prior, and wasn’t supposed to make it. So it was a POWERFUL moment when he was able to walk her baby girl down the aisle & see her for the first time in her wedding dress. A moment that their family never thought they would have the opportunity to have. When I was taking those first look photos, I can promise you I was slightly praying that they weren’t going to be blurry because I WAS CRYING.  

This day overflowed with love, & both sides of the families made us feel like we were one of them. Tanner and I feel so lucky to be able to do this for work.
